Knifemen take cash from terrified staff
Friday 16th December 2011, 11:00AM GMT.
Two men armed with knives burst into a Wolverhampton business forcing two terrified staff to the ground and stealing hundreds of pounds in cash.
Detectives are today appealing for information following the robbery at WRIS Wolverhampton, in Blakenhall.
The company, which deals in welding supplies, is believed to have lost £500 in cash taken by the robbers.
The offenders also took the handbag of one of the female members of staff before making their getaway.
Sales manager Wayne Morgan, who was not at the premises when the attack happened on Wednesday said: “We had one worker and the company accountant here when two men burst in wearing balaclavas and holding knives.
“They threatened them and told them to get on the ground. It was very traumatic and frightening for the both of them.”
Mr Morgan said he believed police had identified a blood sample left at the scene by the offenders as they cut the telephone lines.
