Driver is fighting for life after crash

A van driver was fighting for his life this afternoon following a serious crash on the A460 at Shareshill.
The 40-year-old was airlifted to hospital after colliding with a lorry and a Honda Civic.
Emergency crews were called to the scene, between Saredon Filling Station and the M6 junction 11 island, at 10.20am.
The Midlands Air Ambulance took the van driver, from Cannock, to Birmingham’s Queen Elizabeth Hospital with serious injuries.
Cannock Road remained closed at 1.30pm this afternoon from Hilton Lane to the motorway island while police collision investigators worked at the scene.
