National Express looking for 100 drivers
Thursday 24th November 2011, 9:00PM GMT.
A total of 100 drivers are still being sought by bus company National Express West Midlands, it was revealed today.
The company launched an appeal for 150 new bus drivers across the region in September.
Bosses today said 100 were still needed but insisted the number had risen due to recent investment in the bus network.
They said many of those that had already applied were still going through the application process but the number of jobs being created was constantly going up.
The Birmingham-based firm, which employs 5,000 people across the region, has spent £25 million on new vehicles in the region this year. This includes 29 new buses in Walsall and Wolverhampton.
Madi Pilgrim, of National Express West Midlands, said: “There are a high number of people looking for jobs across the West Midlands at present and I would urge them to go to www.nationalexpress.jobs and have a look at what it takes to become a bus driver.”
