Tuesday 22nd November 2011, 11:00AM GMT.
A driver was thrown nearly 15ft from his car onto a family’s driveway after a crash in the Black Country.
Residents in Newbury Lane, Oldbury were shocked to find the 22-year-old lying yards from their front door.
They comforted the driver, who had suffered head and chest injuries but was conscious, and covered him in a blanket.
He had been travelling in a Peugeot hatchback when it collided with a Ford Mondeo taxi near a bend at 3.25pm yesterday. The back of the Peugeot was badly damaged and the vehicle ended up across the pavement, while the front of the taxi was caved in and came to a halt 20ft along the road.
West Midlands Ambulance Service said: the 22-year-old suffered head and chest injuries. The driver of the taxi, who was on his own at the time, suffered back pain and shock. Both were taken to hospital.
