Firm saves struggling Royal British Legion clubs

A Midland company with interests in the soft drinks industry has come to the rescue of struggling Royal British Legion social clubs by taking them over at a cost of hundreds of thousands of pounds.

Horizon Estates 2009 Limited has so far turned around the fortunes of five clubs linked to the national charity, including the branch in Albrighton, in a business arrangement. The company based in Wharf Approach, Aldridge, supplies licensed businesses across the region.

It has beeninvited by the Royal British Legion to consider taking over the leases of ailing member clubs.

It has recently taken over the running of renamed legion club The Royal, in Delaware Avenue, Albrighton.
