Best Buy bosses confident they will be able to relocate Merry Hill staff

Bosses at a budget electrical firm in Merry Hill that is due to close down are “absolutely confident” they will be able to relocate the majority of staff.

One hundred workers at Best Buy are waiting to find out if they will be given jobs elsewhere. The branch is expected to shut by the end of the year.

The company is currently holding a consultation with workers at the Merry Hill store to see what posts are available for them across the Midlands.

The branch, which sells products from electric plugs to laptops, only opened its doors in Dudley last year.

Retailer Carphone Warehouse, which owns Best Buy, will shut the branches across the country.
