Fly-tippers strike at old Wolverhampton pub site

It costs Midland taxpayers millions of pounds a year to clear up.

And the scourge of fly-tipping continues to blight communities as this latest picture shows.

A mound of sofas, chairs, electrical equipment and household junk was today piled up on the site of a former pub in Wolverhampton.

The former Paget Arms, in Park Lane, Low Hill, is being used as a dumping ground, despite being just half a mile from a council tip in Shaw Road.

Bushbury South councillor Peter O’Neill said: “The problem is that these sites are acquired, demolished and then they just end up sitting there. I’m looking at regulations that force the owners to clean up the site and make it more secure.”
