Thousands of pets are competing to be the top dogs at a canine championship show in Staffordshire this weekend.
More than 8,700 dog lovers have entered their pets in the Midland Counties Canine Society Championship dog show at the New Bingley Hall at the County Showground in Stafford.
Over 140 different breeds of pedigree dog are competing in the show which started on Thursday and ends tomorrow. They are trying to win the Best in Show prize and take part in the world’s largest dog show, Crufts.
The show is one of 37 General Championship Dog Shows licensed by the Kennel Club throughout the year which enable dogs to qualify for Crufts.
