Business as usual at Wolverhampton Oceana this weekend

It will be “business as usual” at Wolverhampton’s Oceana nightspot this weekend, it was declared today, despite its parent group collapsing into administration. All of the group’s 76 venues will be open.
The team brought in to run the business from accountants Ernst & Young said nightclub group Luminar’s would be trading as normal over the important Halloween trading period.
The jobs of around 2,500 nightclub workers, up to 100 of them at Oceana in Wolverhampton, have been put at risk by the collapse of the business.
Its Oceana, Liquid, Envy, Lava Ignite and The Jump House venues have been struggling for months against tough competition and less spending among its core youth market – hardest hit by the current wave of unemployment.
