It’s a sight to behold and which ever direction you’re heading into Wolverhampton, the Molineux redevelopment is visible on the skyline.

The two masts of the new Stan Cullis stand which will hold the roof dwarf both the Billy Wright and Steve Bull stand, showing its enormity.

After completing the lower tier and the hand- over of temporary seats to season ticket holders on September 17, building work has moved on to the upper tier where concrete plynths are being installed and seating brackets fitted.

Stairwells are in place with the roof expected to go on by the end of November – a welcome arrival for those season tickets holders currently braving the elements.

In little over five months we have seen the Stan Cullis Stand demolished and a new stand replace it.

A golden design might be taking shape around Molineux, but on the pitch, it’s back to the drawing board.

This is a great time to be a Wolves fan, 3 consecutive seasons in the best league in the world, financial stability and a new stadium which will be the envy of the midlands, if not most of the division. I am old enough to remember the dark days of the Bhatti brothers! Is that what you want to go back to? Either get behind the lads or stay away, a simple choice.

I love my club and this is sonething my Grandad gave to me. He remembered us as the best of the best, but these days it seems to be down to money and not how good people are at playing. If Steve wants to re-invest in the stadium then great, I just hope that there are enough places for disabled fans as it would be nice to see my team play more often! Some disabled area/seating in the cow shed would be great!

No matter what happens I will always love my club! If people want to moan keep it to yourself as the rest of us are proud to be Old Gold & Black, through and through!

        C’mon you Wolves! :)

I agree, people now dont remember how bad things were. I remember going to away games during the 80′s death slide. There were only 20 or 30 wolves travelling fans left. Mick, Moxey and Morgan have done a lot for Wolves with at times little gratitude from the fans. If people think 5 straight defeats is bad they should dig out a Rothmans and revisit the mid 80′s where we hardly won a game for 3 years. Get behind the team because most you havent got a clue what football defeat and misery is.

Aslong as its not filled with numpty’s such as yourself, i dont really care !

At the end of the day, even if we do go down, were a yoyo club right now and will bounce back again and when the money is there to put into the players we will have a great stadium to fill the mass gold and black army !

But even when there’s 50,000 seats, i hope there isnt one for you !!

Look past your nose and see the long term benefits !!!

Lets face it, we wouldnt fill the stadium as it was if we go down to the championship, for one simple reason. Fans like yourself who only give a damn about this club if were winning.

The real Wolves supporters will continue to support the club no matter what. Were too good a team to go down, and if we are still struggling near christmas, some questions really need to be asked, But us fans still need to get behind the team.

Surprised how nobody is yet to comment on the major design fault for the new stand….at the Steve Bull end by the quadrant a concrete wall as been built which leaves a blind spot! If sat at back of lower tier you are only able to see 2/3 of the pitch. Sums up Wolves to be honest! You’d expect better from a new design….if Google Molineux Redevelopment and choose 3rd option, footballgroundguide….page 11 of the site illustrates the mistake.

No doubt this article will attract the usual thread of negativity! How about looking at it positively for a change? Look at how bloody impressive it looks! Capacity wise, we are trying to move up from the likes of Blackburn and West Brom into the league of Sunderland and Villa. (Still might not be enough for some people!) When the financial fair play rules come in, having the potential to fill a 40k ground puts you in a far healthier position than a club with a maximum of 30k. Of course, we need to stay in the division long term (the debate about MM is a separate one to this) and I’m sure we, like other clubs, will have to dramatically adjust our prices in the next few seasons in order to anywhere near fill it. Steve Morgan is one of the most successful businessmen in this country and I doubt he has come here to run an unsuccessful football club. Could it be that we’ve got a fairly sound long term plan to build this club up and make it successful for years to come? Damn, I bet Portsmouth fans wish they’d had one of those.

ABSOLUTLY SPOT ON MATE REGARDING THE FINANCIAL FAIR PLAY RULES !!!!

Some fans cant see past the end of there noses never mind 3 years down the line.

Once these rules come into play, & there on there way no doubht, it will limit the spending power due to revenue so it makes alot of sense to get the ground up to scratch now.

Only thing is, i wished they would put half as much effort/money into the team building as the ground building then we wouldnt be in a yoyo mess again.

Totally agree, I’d like to see some more SENSIBLE investment in the team. I don’t think Morgan totally trusts MM to spend his money wisely given his recent record. However I also don’t think firing him now would do us any favours either! That’s a debate for the other page really though.

Shame there’s no progress ON the pitch; Can’t believe that Mick’s Muppets are taking some hope from being thrashed by City, like Swansea should have been 0-4, it could have been 1-7 last night if the opposition had remained focused; What will the score be sat? Would a 4-0 seem like a good result, will a draw against Wigan be seen as progress, will defeats of less than 2-0,5-0 at Everton/Chelsea be seen as a ‘good shift’; Dear oh dear.

It also would have been a completely different story if the ref turned up. We would have had a penalty, and they would have been down to 10 men.

Positives are that certain players seem to be gaining a little confidence, and that all the numpties that think they know better than the manager can now shut up. Craddock showed that hes nowhere near fast enough for the premier league now, and Doherty showed that hes not experienced enough to replace Stearman. 2 changes that these wannabe managers claimed Mick should have made in the league.

Good things are happening at the club. We are in the best league in the world, competing against some of the best clubs in the world. We haven’t got multi-millions to plough into the club like some of the other teams, so how can anyone expect them to pull up trees? There is a long way to go yet and we had a good start so we know we are capable of playing better than we have been. If we go down start moaning then, but for now get behind the team and the manager or shut-up. That’s what true fans do.

Yes we`ve marginaly improved the team,BUT the teams below us arn`t as bad as they were inlast two seasons.I certaionly don`t expect to be compeating with billionaires but some of the prem`ship money should be used to fill the gaps we do have, yes Wardys playing out of his skin at moment,George isn`t really up to it so if Ward gets injured ?
Johnson is a shadow of his earlier self. When he first came he was shouting all over the pitch,i havn`t heard him since QPR.
Henry played well against Swansea, but was terrible against baggies and Newcastle.
Jarvo hasn`t been same since England.

Can I point out that this is your opinion, John. As wsuch it carries no merit than anyone elses on here.

As paying customers we all have the right to air our elation at times of good and our disgruntlements at the not so good.I prefer it if people wait until the end of the match befoe airing their annoyance, but sometimes it is difficult- you don’t hold on to the celebration of a goal for example unbtil the end of a game.

Don’t tell people to stay away, they have just as much right to be there as you have.

We don’t tell you to stay away becsuse we think your view- that MM is the new Messiah is so abhorrent to us (and shortsighted)that you may as well just tell a team in the championship they can have our spot in the Prem now!

We are all fans despite our differing opinions. Personally as someone who remembers the Bhattis, I am more thankful, in the long term to Cllr Bird and Graham Turner than I ever will be to our current, uncouth, incumbent, manager

Walter Wall – If! we had beat the unmentionables and then lost to Swansea do you think that the nasty, low life, comments would have been made, I don’t think so! because we lost to the unmentionables it has got the “fans”??????????????? off their chairs and moaning, last night their were less than ten thousand Wolves fans (apart from one or two)who supported the lads and Mick, it come’s to something when “fans”??????would prefare us to lose every match just so the Manager will get the sack! and that’s being a fan.
OK we lost to man “moneybags” citae, what about the three pens we should have had, the first one would have seen the citae player red carded,or if we had got Fletch in the box for the three dropped shots off their goalie,
Ok we might get a pasting at citae, but not many teams won’t, they couldn’t put 6 up us – mind you we didn’t have 10 men.
Last night gave us some optimism with the way the lads played, no doubt you will blast holes in my comments – just like I bet you were one of those idiots who had a go at Mick when he made the changes on Saturday and finished up with egg all over your mugs, but like Mick I couldn’t care a toss what you or your moronic mates think, my concern is how you are dragging our club down, oh and by the way – you failed to mention that we could have been 1-0 up in the first few minutes against Swansea! missed that one hey.

He also forgot to mention that we should have got a draw against Liverpool, andf should have got a win against Newcastle. As well as just increasing the attendance, a huge factor with the ground redevelopment is the increase in potential for corporate income. Whether we like it or not this is a huge area of income in the football nowadays. The average corporate fan brings in at least 10 times more £ than the average ‘normal’ fan. Under the new rules, all that extra cash means potentially more money to spend on players in the future than the likes of Fulham and Blackburn won’t have. Under our new plans we have new restaurants, executive boxes, meeting rooms, I think I even read about a casino. All long term income that will make us stronger on the pitch under these new rules.

Yes I’d like a little more short term investment in the team as well but we’ve got to try to not be so short sighted. Football is changing big time and I’d like to think we’re at the forefront of it.

    • chris hoggard

Carl, ‘A huge factor with the ground redevelopment’ will be,how much will it cost, who will pay for it,how much debt will we take on in paying for it,how much Sky money will be used to pay for the ground rather than spent on team strnghthening, how will we fill it when it is finished? We have waited years to get to the Prem and were promised the earth once we got there. All we get is excuses as to why we cannot strenghen the team and compete properly in the top flight. We have a builder for a owner and he wants to build a ground when we already have one we cannot fill.

      • car wolves

All of the questions that you ask will have been addressed in detail in the boardroom and form part of the longer term plan. It’s not going to be all about filling the ground week in week out. The break even figures will take into account corporate income which forms a huge percentage of a big football clubs income in the 21st century. On the subject of filling the ground though I’m pretty sure that we’ll have to have a massive price cut in coming seasons, as will loads of teams with the latest tv ruling. Morgan is a successful businessman and not a stupid man. I for one trust his judgement. He might not be a Wolves fan but it’s in his interests to make sure we’re successful.

Car, I hope you are right. If the questions have been addressed, why not share them with the fans? Why do they hide the details? And above all why have they not been truthful about cutting back the transfer budget last close season.A decision that right now looks to have big mistake written all over it.By the way most income these days comes from TV,most of which is lost if you get relegated.Do not forget Wolves’ financial woes in the 80′s eminated from over ambitous ground redevelopment plans.
