Victims tell of Wolverhampton bowling club attack
Thursday 27th October 2011, 11:29AM BST.
Two Wolverhampton bowling club officials today spoke of being beaten by thugs who attacked them after they locked up at the club, and robbed them as they lay on the ground.
The three attackers stole car keys from the chairman and captain of Oaklands Bowling Club and fled in one of the victim’s cars.
Detectives are now hunting the criminals who struck as Alan Woolven and Colin Birch were leaving after locking up the club, in Lea Road, Penn Fields. The horrific attack came as they were walking up the long driveway at the property.
They were approached at about 11.30pm on October 3 by three men in dark clothing who launched a violent attack, kicking and punching their defenceless targets several times until they lost consciousness. The thugs took both men’s car keys and got away in Mr Woolven’s car, a silver Mini Cooper S.
