Two teenagers die in Smethwick canal tragedy

Two teenagers have died after falling in a canal in the Black Country in what police are today describing as a “tragic accident”.
Sara Rylance, aged 17, and Mohammed Fayz Uddin, 18, were pulled from the canal in Smethwick yesterday evening.
Both teenagers, who are from the local area, were taken to hospital but were pronounced dead a short time later.
Police spokeswoman Zoe Lee, said: “At the moment it looks like a tragic accident.”
