Wednesday 26th October 2011, 11:29AM BST.
A busy road on the Sandwell/Dudley border is set to be widened under new plans to tackle long-running congestion problems, it was announced today.
Motorists travelling along the A458 Windmill Hill at Cradley have problems as the narrow road gets clogged up with buses, commuter traffic and delivery vans.
Dudley Council’s regeneration boss Councillor Angus Adams today insisted the authority was “still committed” to the regeneration of the town, which acts as a main thoroughfare between Stourbridge and Halesowen.
Works at the junctions of Toys Lane and Colley Lane, and at the corner of Furlong Lane, have been labelled “vital” to improve both traffic flow and air quality.
