Oldbury burst main misery to last for days
Wednesday 26th October 2011, 11:29AM BST.
Repairs to a major route in the Black Country could take days after drivers were faced with traffic misery from a burst water main.
Traffic was hit by delays yesterday after the main burst in Birmingham Road, Oldbury, forcing drivers to follow a winding diversion around the town.
South Staffs Water are now carrying out repairs to the main, and re-covering the surface of the road.
The firm has told the council work will be finished no later than November 4 but it may be completed sooner, depending on when the road will be safe to use.
