Engraved bricks helping Stafford Rangers
Wednesday 26th October 2011, 11:29AM BST.
Stafford Rangers supporters are buying engraved bricks to put on the club’s main stand as part of efforts to boost the cash-strapped club’s finances.
Stuart Maun from the Marston Road club’s commercial department came up with the “bricology” idea.
Rangers chairman Mike Hughes said the bricks with personalised messages were bringing in vital new revenue. Three lots of bricks have already been put in place at the ground on an upright wall on the stand, facing the main entrance.
The text on the bricks is in bold black, and there is a limit of 15 characters. A brick with two lines cost £40 and for four lines £75.
