£40,000 metal theft at Great Wyrley firm
Wednesday 26th October 2011, 11:30AM BST.
Burglars stole metal and tools worth around £40,000 in a raid on a Staffordshire steel company.
Among the haul were specially commissioned brass artworks, including parts of three giant replicas of a baby’s dummy.
Around £25,000 worth of stainless steel and brass items were taken from GSR Engineering Systems Ltd, in Great Wyrley, however, the company’s managing director fears the overall cost of the break-in will be a lot more as valuable tools were stolen too.
The offenders smashed a padlock off the gate to Landywood Enterprise Park, then forced open the roller shutter doors to the GSR unit, between 7pm on Monday, and 7.15am onTuesday morning.
