More than £1,000 to spend in the shops, makeovers, meals, show tickets and an entire festive feast for free - one lucky person is being given the chance to win a Christmas to remember in Wolverhampton.

Businesses across Wolverhampton have teamed up to offer thousands of pounds worth of prizes that will see the festive period covered.

The Win Christmas campaign is launched today, with people across the region being asked to answer three multiple choice questions for the chance to bag the mammoth haul of freebies on offer.

Prize draw forms are now out in shops, pubs, clubs, restaurants, cafés, or you can download one here.

Companies and organisations from across Wolverhampton have joined forces to give one lucky person a festive period to remember, ranging from Wolverhampton City Council’s £1,000 cash prize to be spent in the city, a flat-screen TV, show tickets for Wolverhampton’s Civic Hall, pantomime tickets for the Grand Theatre, an entire Christmas dinner, store vouchers – and even a cuddly toy.

Heather Ernstons, spokeswoman for the campaign, said: “Wolverhampton city centre businesses are joining forces to launch this big-hearted promotion.

“One lucky family could win the best Christmas ever and enjoy a shopping trip of a lifetime.

“We’re hoping the promotion will attract more shoppers and party-goers into the city centre this year to enjoy the choice and variety offered by 700 retailers, pubs, clubs, restaurants and cafes not to mention a programme of free entertainment for all the family.  Times may be tough, but here in Wolverhampton, we’re determined to deliver some Christmas cheer.”

Entries must be posted before middday on December 5 to special Win Christmas post boxes located at the Express & Star head office in Queen Street, Boots, in Dudley Street, Mander Centre, Commando Army Wear in Darlington Street, Equinox in Victoria Street, Beatties, the Grand Theatre and Wolverhampton Art Gallery, both in Lichfield Street, McDonalds in Dudley Street, the Wulfrun Centre, the Civic Centre and Wolverhampton Indoor Market.

Wolves legend Steve Bull will draw out the lucky winner at midday on December 6.
