Lawyer to hold talks on at-risk care home
Monday 24th October 2011, 11:27AM BST.
Relatives of elderly residents battling to save their closure-threatened care home in Kingswinford will hold talks with a crusading lawyer.
Solicitor Yvonne Hossack, who has helped others in the UK, is to meet with the families of residents at New Bradley Hall.
Dudley Council plans to shut the home in Compton Drive along with New Bridge House, in Coseley, New Swinford Hall, in Stourbridge, and Shenstone House, in Halesowen, as part of a shake-up of adult social care services in the borough.
Miss Hossack helped elderly residents fighting to stay at the ill-fated Underhill House, in Bushbury, Wolverhampton.
She also battled against care home closures in Staffordshire and Nottinghamshire and worked on campaigns to keep homes open in Hull.
New Bradley Hall campaign leader Mac Scott MBE said the initial meeting would take place within two weeks.
