Pair charged over pet monkey

A man and woman from Stourbridge today denied causing unnecessary suffering to a young marmoset monkey and will now stand trial.
Julie Ann Jones and Lee Powell, both of Sunderland Drive, Amblecote, pleaded not guilty when they appeared before Dudley Magistrates Court today.
Jones, aged 41, and Powell, 50, were each charged with two counts of causing unnecessary suffering to a protected animal, and two charges of failing to ensure the animal received suitable food and care.
