Car wash hit by £15k damage in arson attack
Monday 10th October 2011, 1:00PM BST.
Buildings and machinery has been destroyed in a suspected arson attack at a Lye car wash overnight.
The owners of the Jet King Car Wash in Hayes Lane revealed up to £15,000 worth of damage had been caused after the storage building caught fire during the early hours of this morning.
Alberto Kola, who has run the business for around five years, said an emergency order of new equipment had been made first thing and he hoped to get the business back up and running within two days.
He said he had been alerted by neighbours who called him when they spotted the fire. “The damage is really bad – I arrived and just saw big flames everywhere,” he said.
