Thursday 29th September 2011, 11:26AM BST.
The boots worn by a Wolves star in the 1949 FA Cup final are set to fetch up to £800 at auction.
The heavy-duty brown leather boots belonged to the late Terry Springthorpe, who was Wolves’ left back in the match at Wembley on April 30. The game was watched by a crowd of 99,500 and the future Queen.
Now, 62 years later, Springthorpe’s boots are expected to sell for between £600 and £800 at Bonhams in Chester next Wednesday.
