Families in tears at home plan

More than 100 people turned out to vent their fury over the planned closure of a Black Country care home at a public meeting.

Elderly residents of New Bradley Hall care Home in Kingswinford and their relatives were in tears as they pleaded with Dudley Council chiefs to keep the facility open.

They presented a 200-name petition at last night’s night event at Kingswinford Methodist Church.

And they announced their intention to collect 3,000 signatures for next week’s full council meeting – where they will stage a protest on the steps of the council house ahead of a final decision on the plans.
