Hairdressing couple bid farewell after 48 years

When it comes to hairdressing Malcolm Price and his wife Eileen are a cut above the rest.
The couple have worked in the same South Staffordshire salon, called Ladies and Gents, for the past 48 years.
And there were cheers and tears from loyal customers who packed the business in Hill Street, Essington when it closed for good on Saturday. Mr Price, aged 68, confessed as he wielded the scissors and electric razor for the last time: “I am ready for a rest.”
He launched the business with a relative and Mrs Price, who he was going out with him at the time, joined him in the business two years later and they have worked side by side ever since.
