Saturday 24th September 2011, 11:29AM BST.
A mini Indian summer is on the way with temperatures in the Midlands set to hit the 80s next week, forecasters said today.
The Met Office say there are signs suggesting there will be several days of warm and dry weather.
After a pleasant weekend, temperatures are expected to rise from Monday, hitting a high later in the week.
Central and eastern areas of the country should benefit the most, with the region expected to bask in temperatures of 81F (27C).
Met Office forecaster Tom Morgan, said: “Central and eastern parts of Britain will see prolonged spells of dry weather and sunshine with temperatures reaching the mid-20s. It should get hotter as the week progresses.”
Weathermen believe the settled spell could carry on into the start of October.
