Landmark Tesco nears completion
Saturday 24th September 2011, 11:29AM BST.
A new landmark is taking shape in the Black Country – in the form of a £27 million Tesco superstore.
Construction of the supermarket near Burnt Tree Island on the Dudley-Sandwell border is nearing completion with workers now carrying out the finishing touches to the site.
The store, which will occupy a space of 140,000 sq ft, is scheduled to open on October 17 and will be one of largest stores of its kind in the Black Country. It replaces a smaller store on the site.
Building work has been completed and is ready for fixtures and fittings to be installed by the supermarket giant.
