TV chefs The Hairy Bikers stunned regulars at a traditional pub in the Black Country when they turned up and handed out home-made pork scratchings.

The pair, Simon King and Dave Myers, arrived at The Great Western pub in Wolverhampton on their trademark motorcycles with a camera crew.

And they caused a stir when they started handing out scratchings to shocked customers which they had made themselves that day.

The pair had been filming at city firm Midland Snacks Ltd, in Bridge Street, before going to the Sun Street pub yesterday as part of a new TV show about the history of British food.

"The show we are filming in the Black Country is all about how pub food fits into history," said Dave. "The Great Western is a great pub. It's just how a proper pub should be."
