Glamorous party axed over noise
Wednesday 31st August 2011, 11:30AM BST.
A glamorous champagne and cocktail party at an upmarket pub in Wolverhampton has been axed after complaints.
Owners of the The Crown at Wergs have backed down from holding another open-air party at the pub.
Now the pub has moved to reassure neighbours it will not hold the event again after receiving a small number of complaints.
A DJ performed on the front lawn of The Crown at Wergs on Saturday night, while an extra outdoor bar was installed and hog roast for guests.
However, despite a full house and positive feedback from the customers, there are no plans to repeat the event following a small number of complaints.
The Champagne and Cocktail Terrace Party was billed as an “ultra-glam” event for the movers and shakers of Wolverhampton.
However, Harriet Hammond, manager at the Wergs Road pub, said there was no plans to repeat such an event out of courtesy for nearby residents.
