Neighbours’ fury over 30ft rubbish mountain

This towering 30ft mountain of rubbish at a skip hire firm was today at the centre of complaints in a Black Country neighbourhood.

Environmental health bosses are investigating concerns that the rubbish mountain is oozing unpleasant odours and attracting rats.

The Environment Agency today revealed it has received 10 complaints from people living near Brian Hill Skip Hire in Moor Street, Brierley Hill.

They claim the eyesore pile of rubbish is plaguing their lives with nasty odours and vermin.

Company bosses today pledged the 2,000-ton mountain would be disposed of at a rate of 40 tons a day over the coming weeks as part of a £1.4 million investment in equipment designed to keep rubbish out of landfill, and creating 24 new jobs.
