Two members of Britain’s biggest orchestra showed off their musical talents on the roof of Birmingham’s iconic Rotunda building.
National Youth Orchestra violinists Roberto Ruisi, aged 15, from Birmingham, and Emily Harper, 16, from Ripon, scaled the dizzy heights of the 266ft Grade-II building.
Their appearance yesterday was to celebrate the group returning to Birmingham for its annual summer residency and to promote an upcoming concert at Birmingham Symphony Hall next Wednesday.
The 165-strong orchestra, which consists completely of teenagers, will be rehearsing all this week at Birmingham University in preparation for the concert.
Members of the orchestra will also be performing in and around the Symphony Hall in the run-up to the event.
They will perform at the Symphony Hall Café Bar at 6pm on Monday and at 6pm on Wednesday evening.
