Five supercars in costly collision
Thursday 28th July 2011, 12:07PM BST.
To crash into one luxury car is unfortunate, but to leave five scraped and battered is just careless.
This was the eye-watering scene after a Bentley driver collided with a Mercedes, a Ferrari, a Porsche and an Aston Martin in Monaco.
Tourists watched as the hapless blonde crashed her £250,000 Bentley Azure outside the Principality’s Place du Casino.
The driver of a white Mercedes S Class worth £75,000 was the first victim as the 2.7-tonne Bentley scraped down the side of it before crashing into a £140,000 black Ferrari F430.
An Aston Martin Rapide worth £140,000 and an £80,000 Porsche 911 both suffered damage to their fronts after being shunted.
Hundreds of tourists piled on the humiliation by crowding round to watch as the driver and her two passengers tried and failed open the doors of the convertible. The damage from the crash will cost an estimated £40,000 to fix.
