Warden services for elderly tenants in South Staffordshire could be increased after housing chiefs denied they would be cut back.

South Staffordshire Housing Association said wardens could work an extra 1,000 hours a year and go from five days a week to seven.

The current service delivers around 20,000 hours of support each year through a Monday-Friday service across 13 sheltered schemes.

It could go up to at least 21,000 hours through a seven days a weeks, all year round service.
