Treasured sci-fi collection for going up for sale
Wednesday 20th July 2011, 11:30AM BST.
A sc-fi fan with a big passion for comics and toys from some of the best known cartoon and screen characters, has put his entire collection featuring hundreds of items up for sale.
Father-of-two Neil Hough has amassed more than 400 rare books, models and images of his favourites at car boot sales and memorabilia fairs. It is an ultimate science fiction fan’s dream.
But he says he has finally outgrown his 30-year obsession.
Bedrooms, the loft, boxes and cupboards, in fact anywhere space can be found at his Walsall home is crammed full of pictures, toys, posters all in pristine condition. Now the 53-year-old says he has swapped his love of science fiction collectibles for the thrill of Formula 1.
He is seeking a way to sell the collection and hopes to spend some of the proceeds on three days worth of tickets and accommodation for Silverstone 2012.
