She has had the most amazing year of her life after shining on Britain’s Got Talent.

Now Wolverhampton organist Jean Martyn has been chosen to receive an Express & Star Local Hero award.

Aside from taking centre stage on BGT, the 60-year-old has helped raise more than £40,000 for good causes over her 30 year playing career.

She told the Express & Star today: “It’s a total surprise. I just can’t believe it. I’m just a Midlands girl and all this is happening.

“I’m so proud. I’ll be putting it up on the wall. It will take pride of place.”
