Ring road bridge scheme delays
Thursday 23rd June 2011, 6:00PM BST.
Extra road closures were today announced on Wolverhampton’s Ring Road after it was revealed work to create a new £1.8 million footbridge had been delayed due to bad weather.
A section of Ring Road St David’s has been closed overnight for weeks while the new bridge takes shape.
The closures had been due to finish last weekend, but Wolverhampton City Council today announced further disruption until July 9.
Council spokesman Paul Brown said: “Adverse weather conditions over the last few weeks have meant further closures of the ring road are necessary.”
Ring Road St David’s will be closed in both directions between the Broad Street Junction and Bilston Road Island from 1-6pm on Saturday, from 7am-6pm on July 2 and 3, and between 7pm and 7am from July 4 to 8.
