Tower plunge cat has miracle escape

This cat has certainly used up one of his nine lives – after falling from a 12-storey tower block and escaping with only a broken tooth.

The plucky puss survived his ordeal and has now been called Everest. It is not known how the pet ended up plummeting from the flats in Oldbury and officials are appealing for its owner, or anyone with information, to come forward.

The RSPCA was called to Hackwood House in Hartlebury Road on June 5 after the cat hit the window of a resident living on the third floor of the building before falling to the ground. It was found bleeding from the mouth and in a state of extreme shock.

RSPCA animal welfare officer Susie Bailey said the female tabby and white cat could not move her legs leading to fears she had been severely injured.

However, the animal is now recovering after being treated at Birmingham Animal Hospital.

Anyone with information should call 0300 1234 999.
