A teenage moped rider who died in a crash with a car in Birmingham has been named as 18-year-old Jordan Boyd, from Smethwick.

A teenage moped rider who died in a crash with a car in Birmingham has been named as 18-year-old Jordan Boyd, from Smethwick.

Tributes to the popular teenager, a talented student and keen football player, have poured in following the crash in Warstock Lane, Kings Heath, on Wednesday.

The 18-year-old, believed to have been in his final year at Woodrush Community High School in Birmingham, died at the scene, despite the best efforts of the emergency services.

A Facebook group set up in his memory describes the teenager as “an absolute legend” and has 462 followers.

Any witnesses should call 0345 113 5000 and ask for the Collision Investigation Unit at Aston police station.
