Patient complaints sparks New Cross Hospital investigation

A health watchdog has launched an investigation into a Black Country hospital following a patient complaint, delaying its bid for flagship Foundation Trust status, it emerged today.
Inspectors from the Care Quality Commission have carried out two unannounced visits to New Cross Hospital in Wolverhampton after concerns were raised by a patient’s relative.
The investigation was launched after the relative complained about the care received.
It is believed the complaint centred on general care issues, timelines of treatment and communication.
