Farewell to pioneering consultant
Friday 27th May 2011, 11:30AM BST.
A consultant who has spent more than two decades on the wards of a Black Country hospital has bid a fond farewell to her colleagues and patients.
Flowers, banners and cards were presented to cardiologist Dr Jane Flint as she waved goodbye to staff at Russells Hall Hospital, Dudley, to start her retirement after 23 years of service.
Dozens of workers gathered at the hospital’s lecture theatre as her colleagues gave speeches paying tribute to a career pioneering change.
“It’s been an emotional week really but it was lovely to be able to say goodbye and see so many patients and staff I’d meet over the years,” said mother-of-two Dr Flint.
“My abiding memory of the hospital will be the people. We have a wonderful team here and that is the most important thing for me.”
