Chasewater ownership will now be re-allocated
Friday 20th May 2011, 11:28AM BST.
Chasewater Country Park and its reservoir has been transferred from the ownership of Lichfield District Council to Staffordshire County Council.
The move is set to secure and strengthen its long-term future.
The site is home to one of the largest reservoirs in the West Midlands and a country park that attracts around 150,000 visitors a year.
Chasewater Country Park will continue to be managed by a team at Lichfield District Council for the next three years.
And the county council will lead the completion of the essential £3million improvement works to the dam.
Work to repair the dam has recently caused financial problems for Chasewater Railway, which has lost revenue while repairs are carried out near the railway line.

Once again, what Cannock and Stafford want..Cannock and Stafford gets. Meanwhile the rest of us just get fed excuses..our money used to pay for potty PC or EU schemes, not to mention subsidies for certain other areas. Yes, it is alright for some isn’t it. Jeeze I wish I was this privileged.
