33 crashes on route in three years
Sunday 8th May 2011, 10:00AM BST.
More than 30 crashes have been reported on a notorious road in South Staffordshire in the past three years.
Staffordshire Police said a total of 33 smashes have been recorded on a three-mile stretch of the A449 Stourbridge Road.
This was between January 2008 and November last year.
Four of those crashes, on the stretch of road between Penn and Himley, led to six people being killed.
The smashes have been put down to a number of issues including icy conditions, motorists driving into stationary vehicles, swerving to avoid an animal or when a driver was travelling on the wrong side of the road.
