Men in terror raid on shop

CCTV images were released today of masked men who raided a fast food restaurant and stole thousands of pounds.

The three men burst into KFC in Hagley Road, Quinton, and threatened the cashiers with hammers and a machete.

They then went behind the counter and into back offices at the restaurant and stole cash. No-one was injured during the robbery, but staff were left shaken by their ordeal.

It happened just before 11pm on February 20. Dc Martin Wynn, from Sandwell and Dudley CID team, said: “These men came into the store, armed with hammers and a machete, and caused the staff inside to fear for their safety.

“Thankfully none of them were hurt but they were very upset, and the offenders made off with a few thousand pounds. Due to the fact that staff were so shaken, they didn’t see the robbers leave the scene, and so we are keen to hear from anyone who may have seen the men running away, or getting into a waiting car.”

The men all had their faces covered. One wore a black zip-up bomber style jacket, and a grey hooded jumper with the hood up, black tracksuit bottoms and black Adidas trainers with three white stripes along the side.

The second man had a dark blue jacket with the hood up and a black bandana across his face, and the third man wore a black jacket with the hood up, blue jeans, and black and white Nike trainers. Witnesses can call police on 0345 113 5000.
