This picture shows the damage to a car after it was in collision with a tram on a busy road in Wolverhampton today.
An elderly man, the driver of the grey Fiat Punto which was left badly dented in the crash, was taken to New Cross Hospital with minor injuries.
Police were forced to close the city centre-bound Bilston Road while the smashed Fiat Punto was towed away following the collision.
The accident happened on the main road at its junction with Ettingshall Road, in Monmore Green.
Metro services were also affected following the crash at 9.22am.
Trams from Birmingham Snow Hill stopped at Priestfield station and commuters had to use the number 79 bus service into Wolverhampton city centre.
Centro spokesman Mark Langford confirmed that services had returned to normal by this afternoon.
“Everything is now back to normal now,” he said.
