Collision sparks Walsall ring road chaos
Wednesday 26th January 2011, 11:30AM GMT.
Two cars collided on the busy Walsall ring road this morning, causing traffic chaos during rush hour.
A man was pulled from his car by firefighters and carried out on a spinal board after the crash in Blue Lane West, close to the town’s Crown Wharf Retail Park.
Emergency services were called to the smash between the cars, believed to be a Fiat and Peugeot, at about 7.43am.
Blue Lane West was sealed off between Wolverhampton Street and Green Lane, causing major disruption for drivers.
Diversions were put in place taking motorists from the A454 Wolverhampton Road into Birchills Street and away from the crash scene.
A police cordon was in place.
