Man arrested after Selfridges shooting is released on bail

A 26-year-old man arrested after a 19-year-old man was shot in the leg outside Selfridges in Birmingham’s Bullring has been bailed pending further inquiries.
The victim has left hospital.
The shooting happened after violence flared between two gangs at 2.20pm on Boxing Day.
Witnesses reported a confrontation between a group of white youths and a group of black youths between Mango and Selfridges. Then the shot was fired on the ground floor.
Security staff treated the victim until paramedics arrived.
The scene was cordoned off by police but shops stayed open. The centre was back to normal yesterday.
