Halesowen homes in darkness after underground cable blast
Tuesday 28th December 2010, 10:49AM GMT.
More than 180 homes were in darkness after an underground cable blast.
Firefighters went to Huntlands Road, Hasbury, Halesowen, after reports of a “loud bang” before a power cut at about 9.43 last night.
Residents feared there had been a gas explosion but Central Networks engineers said a cable fault caused a fuse to blow.
They worked overnight but power to 186 customers in the area was still off today.

I live in the WV6 area and we have had no power since 11AM 27th Dec and we are still off with no estimated time for the problem to be resolved. I have a one year old child and we have had no heating or hot food available from our own home for 48 hours. I think its disgussting in this day an age we have to be disconected for this long.
