Birmingham paedophile nurse given life ban

A paedophile nurse who sexually abused two young girls has been banned from the profession for life.

Richard Loder, from Birmingham, was jailed last April for four years and given a permanent ban from working with children after being found guilty of molesting the girls.

The 58-year-old was also ordered to register as a sex offender for life after being convicted of seven counts of indecent assault on girls under the age of 14, the Nursing and Midwifery Council heard.

The regulator has now struck him off for his crimes.

Loder, whose address was last year given in court as Hazel Croft, Northfield, was registered as a learning disabilities nurse and had been employed by the South Birmingham Primary Care Trust.
