Woman’s body found on Stourport estate
Monday 27th December 2010, 11:29AM GMT.
Police searching for a missing Midland woman have found a body close to where she lived.
The body, believed to be 59-year-old Yvonne Turner, was found in The Walshes estate area of Stourport on Christmas Day afternoon.
West Mercia Police have not revealed any more information about the discovery but said today that the death was being treated as unexplained.
Insp Jane Fitzpatrick, of West Mercia Police, said today that a post-mortem was due to be carried out.
Mrs Turner had left her home in the town on Wednesday, sparking a police hunt.
More than 30 officers were involved for the search for her after she left the Walshes Farm Caravan Park, off Dunley Road, Stourport, to go for a walk.
Mrs Turner’s husband, Brian, contacted police after his wife failed to return home. She was seen on CCTV leaving the caravan park and turning in the direction of the estate.
