Worker’s fingers trapped at Walsall factory
Saturday 27th November 2010, 11:28AM GMT.
A worker got both of his hands caught in a metal bending machine at a factory in the Black Country.
Emergency services were called to Central Fabrications and Facades in Wallows Lane, Walsall.
The man in his 20s got two fingers from each hand caught in a machine but escaped with just minor injuries.
Fire crews from Walsall managed to free the worker’s left hand but his right hand was more wedged in. Firefighters had to manipulate the machine and free his right hand at 2.30pm yesterday.
West Midlands Ambulance spokesman Chris Kowalik said: “He suffered minor injuries to his fingers and they were dressed at the scene before he was taken to Walsall Manor Hospital.”
Central Fabrications and Facades refused to comment.
