Street shut at Beatties in Wolverhampton

A street in Wolverhampton was sealed off for more than four hours after frost cracked two 9ft windows above an entrance to Beatties.

The road outside the entrance to the department store on Victoria Street was shut to prevent passers-by being hurt by falling glass.

Fire crews were called at 10am on Saturday when staff spotted the problem. The road reopened after glaziers boarded up the windows.
