Family 'locked' in Birmingham Airport terminal

Published

A family were locked in a corridor at Birmingham Airport after returning from a week in the sun.

Nick and Sonia Davis, from Great Bridge, along with Nick's mother Jane and their three children were trapped for about 15 minutes after arriving home from Turkey.

Mr Davis said he has serious concerns over security at the airport after the ordeal, claiming there was no-one monitoring the passengers after they got off the plane.

The family had enjoyed a week in Dalyan and became trapped after entering the terminal at 1.50am on Sunday on their return. Mr Davis, aged 36, said: "We could see the cabin crew lea-ving the plane and started banging on the windows to try to get their attention, but they couldn't hear us."

Tony Brunskill, spokesman for Servisair, said the problem could have been caused by an automatic locking system being triggered when the clocks changed and has apologised to Mr Davis and his family.
